The Ottawa Senators' top brass isn't hearing the noise around Brady Tkachuk.
Coming off the second-best season of his career on a points-per-game basis, outside noise has surrounded Tkachuk's future with the Senators.
Ottawa general manager Steve Staios was candid about his feelings on the matter at his season-end press conference on Monday.
"Well it's nonsense is what it is," Staios said. "And it depends on what week and what fanbase it's coming from."
Tkachuk, 26, finished the season with 59 points (22 goals, 37 assists) in 60 games, but failed to tally a point in the playoffs as the Senators suffered a first-round sweep at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes.
"I don't read it, I don't bother with it," Staios said. "We know what we have internally. We have great communication with our players, so we really don't focus on it."
A native of Scottsdale, Ariz., Tkachuk was a member of the 2026 Olympic gold-medal winning United States team, notching three goals and two assists across six tournament games.
Senators coach Travis Green mentioned Tkachuk's Olympic success while defending his playoff performance.
"I think we lose sight of the season that he had," Green said.
"Might have had his highest point-per-game total, I don't think I've heard one person in the room say anything about that," Green added.
